Brain Syskal joins River Run Anglers Instruction staff Like many young boys I grew up fishing on small creeks and lakes or at Westport with my father. However, it was not until I discovered fly fishing I was able to truly understand the art, skill and peace of Angling. In the early 90s, I became a student of spey casting, concentrating on under hand techniques. I practiced in our pasture, on our small lake and of course on the river. As a continuence of my education I graduated to long line techniques where I was able to evolve my casting to a style I call my own. During this time I have been very fortunate to have as first a mentor and teacher, Mike Kinney. I am now even more fortunate to call him my friend. Spey casting is not just a hobby or a sport. It is my passion and religion, it has made me who I am. Aaron has provided the environment where I am able to continue not only my education, but to assist others to find the art of spey casting.
