MacDonald Park Campground

Tolt MacDonald Park & Campground
Carnation

Looking for a wonderful place to camp that’s also close to home? Try King County’s Tolt MacDonald Park & Campground in Carnation. Tolt MacDonald Park has dozens of campsites near the area that the Snoqualmie and Tolt rivers intersect.

Located in downtown Carnation,
Tolt MacDonald Park features 28 individual campsites and two group sites. There are 17 drive-up, full-utility sites and several primitive walk-in sites located across the river. The two group sites and the 17 utility sites are reservable by advanced phone reservations, but the walk-in sites are available first-come, first-served through a convenient self-registration system and payment drop-box on site. All utility sites not previously reserved are also available for self-registration on site. Note: Please make sure you check the Utility sites before paying to make sure one is available. The maximum stay at individual and group sites is seven days. Each individual site and both group sites are located across a suspension bridge and camping items need to be hauled in to the sites from the parking area. Individual sites have a picnic table and a fire pit. Utility sites are $25.00 per night. Walk-in sites are $15.00 per night. Camping is available at Tolt MacDonald year round except during the flood season. Restrooms and showers are available near the utility sites.

The small group site features two three-sided open camping cabins, three individual campsites, picnic tables and fire pits. The large group site is a primitive campsite and includes a large covered shelter, picnic tables and fire pits. The small group campsite accommodates up to 40 people and is $80.00 per night. The large group campsite accommodates up to 60 and is $105.00 per night.

Tolt MacDonald Park covers more than 450 acres on both sides of the Snoqualmie River. The sections on the east and west sides are linked by a 500-foot suspension bridge. Tolt MacDonald also features large grassy meadows, a children’s play area, many hiking trails, two baseball fields, one soccer field and two reservable picnic shelters (one is a former dairy barn converted for picnic uses). Each shelter can accommodate up to 100 people with a total park maximum of 125. The barn shelter is $95.00 on weekends, $80.00 weekdays (per time slot). The bridge shelter across the river is $85.00 on weekends, $75.00 weekdays (per time slot). Time slots are 9am – 2pm & 3pm – 8pm. We also have an open grassy meadow available for large group picnics and special events.
