Speyfair 2008 October 24 - 26
Speyfair is going to have different venue this year. Keeping with suggestions of the patrons of the previous Speyfairs, we are going to run the presentations at the same time as the distance casting so we can provide a more diverse program. It will be more users-friendly. We will need a couple of people to help Friday with the course set up and other small items throughout the weekend.
Casting Competition Required casts Casters can used whatever cast they choose in four situations. Line from the right - over right shoulder and over left shoulder Line from the left - over right shoulder and over left shoulder
Casting Rules Change of direction will be set by markers at about 40 degrees Casting will be in the water - about 3 feet deep There will be a barrier 33 feet behind the caster. No penalty for hitting it, but it will affect the cast. Fly must anchor in front of th:e caster. If Perry Poke, used, only one "dump" allowed per cast and fly may not leave water on "dump." Once a cast is begun, it counts as a scoring cast. An inadvertent "extra" cast in a requred category will nhot be counted agains the caster's allowed casts in any other category, but will used the cater's time. The Competition Qualifying will be help on Friday and Saturday morning -- with the top 10 casters casting Sunday morning. Qauilifying
