This time year always reminds me of Joni Mitchell’s song The River’s.

The Last verse has a very deep meaning to me.

It's coming on Christmas

They're cutting down trees

They're putting up reindeer

And singing songs of joy and peace

I wish I had a river

I could skate away on

You see I have a river and enjoy the winter on the river.
